Château l’Ermitage was founded in the 12th century by the hermits of Ste Cécile d’Estagel Abbey. It is situated on the pil grimage route of Santiago de Compostella.
The estate’s total surface covers 75 hectares of sunny south facing vineyards, which benefit from the refreshing breezes of the Mediterranean climate. Michel and Jérôme Castillon are the domain’s owners. The work that they accomplish allows the grape to breathe out and the use of oak barrels for ageing is restricted as much as possible.
