Winery Cusumano was founded in 2001, when the brothers Alberto and Diego took over the management of the company from their father Francesco. Cusumano’s philosophy is to “emphasize the importance of knowledge, investment in new technologies and the creation of a staff with rich experience in the field of viticulture and, above all, true love for winemaking from the first days”.
In 2003, the company reconstructed the 19th century’s building in Partinico and equipped it with all the necessary conditions for the manufacture and aging of wine with an underground basement for barrels, a warehouse for bottling and aging of wine in them.
Owing to their fine knowledge of the Sicilian countryside and the advice of the Tuscan winemaker Mario Ronco, the Kusumano brothers now own 400 hectares of vineyards in seven farms throughout Sicily (in Partinico, Montreal, Alcamo, Contessa, Enthelline, Mazzare del Vala, Riesi, Pacino). The location of the vineyards in Sicily allows to achieve maximum expression in the cultivation of grapes.
Not only indigenous Sicilian varieties are grown in the vineyards, but also classic ones from around the world, which, according to Diego, receive a new Sicilian sound. Of the white wines, they prefer the vineyard with the Inzolia variety in the Salemi area, from this vineyard they make both monosepazhnoe wine, and combined with Chardonnay.
